Want a job? Social media monitoring is hot
This detailed article on the pros and cons of social media monitoring centers, with lots of good links, is one reason I'm telling students that if they want to be in a hot job market, take all those journalism-related skills they are learning (quick recognition of importance, clear communication, rapid response) and load up on some social media analytics skills as well (no, just logging on to Facebook or tweeting/texting is not enough).
