Tools of the trade

Jim Thomson, editor at a great Northwestern daily (uh-huh), has a great post -- and photo -- on his blog of the tools of the newspaper trade.

If you have a dirty mind, do not click. There's a reason we're all a little weird in this business. It's the lingo.

Heh, gotta love it! I remember working at TDG and filling in dummy pages with miscellaneous stories and pictures we only WISHED could've been published. Along with that, there's nothing like designing a page and sticking in fake headlines that make the copy eds almost shit themselves!

Nice blog. This is definitely the type of "jargon" and scenery that makes newspapers ever so exciting!
