Taricani gets early release
Good news from Providence.
Jim Taricani, the WJAR-TV reporter who was sentenced to home confinement after refusing to say who gave him a videotape revealing a public official taking a bribe. The Providence Journal reports (reg. may be req.) Jim gets to live the normal life again come Saturday. Defense lawyer Joseph A. Bevilacqua later admitted giving Taricani the tape.
As noted many times earlier in this blog, Jim's one of the good guys. Heck of a reporter. Now, he gets to hit the speaking circuit. Look for him at a journalism meeting near you.
