Business search

Research Buzz points to a nice site by Lexis/Nexis that helps you figure out who owns what.

At http://corporateaffiliations.ecnext.com/ you can pop in a corporate name and begin to get a view of all its interconnected companies. The actual reports can range from $10 to more than $300, but you get enough for free that if you need a place to start to get a sense of the interconnections this could be a good one.

And from another blog's entry, it appears the SEC is adding full-text search to its EDGAR database of corporate filings.
