Visit Newsthinking
Ever come across a site and go, Wow! I did tonight, and I don't know how I missed it all these years. It's Bob Baker's Newsthinking, an absolutely superb site for writers -- and editors -- who want to improve their craft.
OK, you've probably known this site and are thnking, "Fisher, what a rube." But if not, then do click on over.
Baker is a reporter for the Los Angeles Times' Calendar section and former deputy metro editor, and his deconstruction of what he does on a story and what he is thinking is great stuff for any writer (see this example, his profile about the AARP magazine).
He provides an archive full of excerpts from the Times' "Nuts and Bolts" newsletter.
So take a look. It will be worth your while.
