Let's get this right
A caption on a photo in my local paper today of the new higher-than-the-Eiffel Tower bridge in France noted it has been "celebrated as a work of art combining the stength of cement and steel ..."
Remind me to stay off that bridge.
Now, had it been celebrated as combining the strength of concrete and steel, that's a different matter.
Cement is the power from which concrete is made. It's so elemental a distinction, no copy desk should get it wrong.
