To hyphenate or not

From a story about working at Victoria's Secret during the holidays:

Anything but pink
and black dreams

Face it. Lots of people probably dream about Victoria's Secret. But for Nekaiya Jacobs, 20, the dreams stray far from the standard lingerie fantasy to the pink and black reality of working long hours at the national retail store.

I would hyphenate to pink-and-black in the story and the hed (which probably means recasting the hed). What do you think?

(I'd also change "retail store" to just chain because 1) retail store is redundant on its face and 2) we've clearly established this is retail, so pairing it with "chain" is overkill.)
