From the cool tech dept: Wolfram Alpha creates QR codes

Wolfram Alpha has announced it can create QR codes from information you input.

The resulting GIF image can be saved and embedded in your website or put into publications, etc.

Here's my personal info encoded.

Even though Google has indicated it is ending QR support in favor of NFC - near field communications - I think QRs will be around for a bit (at least longer than CueCat was).

O.C. Register has been using that for three or so months for the print product.

Yeah. Journalists should think about more ways to use them.
