We're in the middle of the NYPA session now. We're talking about Web 2.0 and easy ways to monitor social media, easy/cheap ways to set up sharing on your site, and ways to become part of the conversation.

So, how about everyone out there chipping in. Add your advice in the comments. What would you tell small-newspaper publishers? What are the top five things they absolutely must know and the sites they have to go to to learn it. Chime in...

• An RSS reader
• Feed the most important RSS into Feedblitz so it gets delivered to you by e-mail (since we all have times we can't check an RSS reader)
• The following blogs:

• E-media tidbits
• Mark Glaser's Mediashift.
• Social Media Today
  
• (There are many others--I gave them a multipage list -- so I hope no offense taken if you aren't listed here. This is just a quick top-of-the-brain list.)
• Del.icio.us
• Technorati (both it and Del.icio.us - set up a search with your town as keyword, at least - and feed that search back using the RSS option)

And then, if you want to use Google as a search engine, try using Soople as the interface -- and try other search engines such as Rollyo.
