Seems South Carolina's Democrats have just told news organizations they won't get precinct-level results and that if they want to get the primary vote totals they'll have to pay admission to get into the Dems' primary-night boiler room. Stay tuned.

Ken Auletta had it right when he said on NPR's "On the Media" a couple of weeks ago (audio file-real player) that in the Bush White House, the media are seen as just another special-interest group. It's not just 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The thought has started to dawn on Main Street, too.
("On the Media" should be weekly required listening for anyone in this buisness.)
