Revenge of the grammarists
Friend Gary Karr outpoints a Washington Post story about the return of grammar instruction in high school.
From what the story says, have hope. But from what it says about the Class of 2006, be prepared to hunker down for a while.
But is it just me or does the story seem to be lacking some oomph? It just seems to end without much purpose and leaves a bunch of holes, such as if the guy isn't a sentence diagrammer, what methods does he use. Oh well, it's the thought that counts.
(And thanks, Gary, for the nice mention.)
